The franchise needed a good leader, coming off a 2-11-1 season in 1968.
Pittsburgh got a good leader.
Former WJAC sports director Bill Wilson interviewed Noll, before his first Steelers training camp.
Noll said he would demand mental and physical toughness. His style created a winning culture.
The Steelers won four Super Bowls (1974, 1975, 1978, 1979) with Noll as the head coach.

Cambria County, Pa. (WJAC) — Wednesday afternoon, 13-year-old Kaci Noon and 12-year-old Brenna Beckman -- both of Cambria County -- received their first dose of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.

PITTSBURGH -- What is old, is new again at the University of Pittsburgh. The Pitt Panthers' athletic department unveiled its new Pitt script logo Wednesday during a ceremony at the Petersen Events Center.
The Pitt script logo was originally introduced by former football coach Johnny Majors in 1973, but it was phased out in 1996. It reappeared in 2014 on Pitt's football helmets and on Wednesday became the primary logo for all of Pitt's athletics teams.

Harrisburg, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) announced Friday that the payments for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program in the new federal CARES Act extension are resuming. The Dept. of L&I says that PUA assists workers who lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and are not typically eligible for other unemployment compensation programs. This includes gig workers, freelancers, and self-employed workers.
Department officials say those applying for PUA need to know the following information: You can begin filing for the additional 11 claim weeks today, January 22.
JOHNSTOWN - A replica of a World War II fighter that was piloted by local ace, Lt. Col Boyd "Buzz" Wagner, was moved from a nearby hangar to the front of the main terminal Friday at the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport.
Wagner is a native of Emeigh, Cambria County.
The replica plane, purchased through a fundraising campaign of more than two years, is a Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, which Wagner flew in World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps.
