SPAIN (TND) — A boat sank in Moroccan waters in the Strait of Gibraltar over the weekend after an unknown number of orcas rammed into the vessel with two passengers on board. The 10-meter-long boat sank 14 miles from Cape Spartel and the passengers were able to notify the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Tarifa for help, according toSpain's maritime rescue services. The passengers reportedly told officials they felt sudden blows to the hull and rudder before water began seeping into the boat.

ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Logan Township police are looking for three individuals they said were involved in the theft of $16,000 worth of jewelry. Police said two men entered the Macy’s department store at the Logan Valley Mall Tuesday and asked to see diamond bracelets from the jewelry counter. One of the men was described as Hispanic with short facial hair wearing dark clothes; the other is black with dreadlocks or braids in his hair wearing a dark hoodie, according to police.
BOALSBURG, Pa. - Walter Bahr, the last living member of the U.S. soccer team that upset England at the 1950 World Cup, had died at age 91. Bahr died Monday in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, from complications that resulted from a broken hip, according to granddaughter Lindsey D. Bahr, a film writer for The Associated Press. A midfielder who scored one goal in 19 international appearances, Bahr collected a throw-in from Ed McIlvenny on June 29, 1950, at Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and took a shot from about 25 yards that Joe Gaetjens deflected past goalkeeper Bert Williams with a diving header late in the first half.
Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Indiana County say a bicyclist was killed early Wednesday morning after being struck by a pickup truck along Old Route 119 in White Township. County coroner Jerry Overman identified the victim as Noah Chappell, of Indiana. Officials say Chappell was reportedly traveling southbound, near 550 Old Route 119, when he was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Investigators say Chappell was pronounced dead at the scene, just before 5 a.

AAA.com says the national gas price average as of Wednesday is $2.866, which is about 10 cents higher than a year ago. Meanwhile Pennsylvania currently has the eighth highest gas price average at $3.026, according to AAA. California has the highest gas price average at $4.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The Johnstown Firefighters Memorial Bridge, formerly the Franklin Street Bridge, was unveiled Friday - showing off its fresh coat of red paint. Construction began Monday to replace the expansion dams on the bridge, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said in a press release. Drivers, PennDOT noted, should expect some possible “minor delays” due to a detour on Route 56. The $4.8 million project is expected to be completed by late November, depending on weather.
