Local Bradley's Book Outlet closing all stores, liquidation sales begin this weekend
BLAWNOX, Pa (WJAC) — Bradley's Book Outlet will be closing all of its stores in the area, company officials announced this week, and liquidation sales began Friday.
“The past couple of years have been a struggle with the stores overall not producing a profit. I was okay with that for several reasons, first and foremost it kept the jobs of the people I admire and respect, which is what makes this such a difficult decision. Due to the virus and the viability of many of our malls, we have reached a point where the stores are losing money and I don’t see a path forward for a turnaround," said owner Mike Paper.
According to a company release, Bradley's Book Outlet is a "family-owned" discount book store, headquartered in Blawnox, Pa, which has been in business since 1993.
The company has eight locations throughout the state:
- Nittany Mall in State College,
- Logan Valley Mall in Altoona,
- Cranberry Mall,
- DuBois Mall,
- Grove City Outlets,
- Indiana Mall,
- Pittsburgh Mills and,
- Uniontown Mall
