'Remembering our fallen heroes:' Clearfield Co. church hosts special Memorial Day service
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Remembering our country’s fallen heroes. That was the theme of Sunday’s Memorial Day service held by Burnside Bible Church at the Burnside Cemetery in Clearfield County.
The service featured an honor guard ceremony from the local American Legion, as well as readings from state Representative Dallas Kephart.
The Sentry Fire Company in Burnside helped to set up the service, and many of their members were in attendance, along with local residents.
Representative Kephart says that there are a lot of veterans and fallen heroes from Clearfield County, which makes services like this one important to the area.
“Memorial Day is very important, and it’s important that we recognize those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of this country, it’s truly heroic and patriotic what they all did for us to keep us free and we are forever grateful to them.”
