One is particularly moving, as it was written by the young son of Officer William "Alden" Elliott, who was a 14-year veteran of the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. Elliot was assigned to the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force and previously served the nation as a U.
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Gov. Tom Wolf announced that North American Höganäs is expanding operations in Cambria County.
Officials say the expansion will bring 25 jobs to the Johnstown area.
“Pennsylvania’s powdered metals industry is a major contributor to our manufacturing sector,” Wolf said. “Höganäs’ decision to expand here is great news for Pennsylvania manufacturing, and will provide at least 25 reliable, family-sustaining jobs for Cambria County workers.”
The powdered metal products manufacturer is investing in new machinery, a new 24,000-square-foot building and additional employees.
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State DuBois Small World Series champion baseball team will be honored at the Penn State football contest at Beaver Stadium on Saturday.
The DuBois team will be honored during the second quarter of the Nittany Lions game against Kent State at noon.
Penn State DuBois claimed the Small College World Series title in a 10-2 win over the Apprentice School in May at Showers Field in DuBois.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A man accused of being the motorcyclist seen smashing in the back of a woman's car while her two young children were inside near Philadelphia's City Hall and then waving a gun at her after she confronted him has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault.
Prosecutors said 26-year-old Cody Heron is also charged with reckless endangerment and possession of an instrument of crime in connection with the incident.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Deputies arrested a Chattanooga man for repeatedly calling and texting 911. An arrest report says at the time, "deputies did not observe any injuries or any emergency going on with him."
But no more than two days after his arrest, 23-year-old Christopher Ayala landed in intensive care.
His family says doctors told them Ayala is now considered brain dead.
Edwin Ayala says he's living in a state of confusion over what happened to his 23 year-old-son.
HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police say a Huntingdon County man is behind bars after he allegedly sent several sexual messages to a teenage girl.
Police say in November, 60-year-old William Copenhaver Jr., of Walker Township, reportedly sent a friend request to the 15-year-old victim on Facebook.
Police say Copenhaver then began messaging the girl, with the messages becoming more sexual in nature around Christmas.
According to online court records, Copenhaver is charged with multiple offenses, including felony charges for unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation.
2nd UPDATE |Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Officials in Franklin County, Ohio have released the mugshot of 22-year-old Jashon Gordon following his arrest Monday morning.
Authorities say Gordon was apprehended, without incident, with the help of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Gordon is currently awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania on charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
UPDATE | Police have released new details about the Sept. 22 shooting at Oakhurst Homes after the suspect, 22-year-old Jashon Gordon, was taken into custody on Monday in Ohio.
