MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — A Myrtle Beach pastor was released from his duties amid an ongoing investigation into thedeath of his wife, 30-year-old Mica Miller. The overseer of Solid Rock Church in Market Common sent a notice to its members on Sunday that Pastor John-Paul Miller was released from all ministerial functions. The notice states that Miller is released "for a time of healing, counsel, and guidance, pursuant to our governing instrument.
NANTICOKE, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — A community is reeling after a shocking murder-suicide in Nanticoke Both people have now been identified and authorities are continuing to investigate. According to a search warrant, at around 8:26 p.m. Monday, Nanticoke police were called to 389 East Union Street for two shooting victims. Upon arrival, officers found a 23-year-old female, 21-year-old male, and an 11-year-old juvenile female. Investigators observed a male at the top of the stairs with a gunshot wound to the head, and a black pistol laying on his body.
RIDGWAY - The Ridgway Triathlon has been a popular community event in Elk County for the past 36 years. However, executive director of the Ridgway YMCA Mary Lynne Bellotti said participation has continued to dwindle year after year. "We're not drawing the numbers that we use to," Bellotti said. "We don't know if it's because less teams are participating and more individual athletes are doing all three events themselves." The Ridgway Triathlon is unique because participants either canoe or kayak instead of swimming.
DuBois, PA — Due to the pandemic, the WPAL Fitness Center in DuBois postponed their Wicked Warrior event to Labor Day Weekend. Aaron Beatty, Director of the WPAL Fitness Center, said they had over 600 participants in their Wicked Warrior Event last year. This year's event was originally scheduled for the weekend of July 24th but due to the pandemic they postponed it to September 5 & 6. The Wicked Warrior event is a Mud Run/Obstacle Course with a 5k/10k and a giant Slip n Slide.

The remains of the former canal basin in South Fork eventually came into the possession of Benjamin Ruff, the club’s founder and first president, in 1879. He oversaw the reconstruction of the dam and had taken several shortcuts for the sake of saving money.

State College, PA (WJAC) — The State College area is getting a new hospital in the coming months as Penn Highlands expands into Centre County. This will be Penn Highlands ninth hospital in the state. They currently have six locations in our coverage area and are now expanding to State College. Representatives from the hospital say that construction will be finished in late spring and that they are planning to open this coming summer.
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Centre County District Attorney Bernie Cantorna announced Wednesday that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has rejected an appeal filed on behalf of James Cruz, a truck driver who was convicted of killing a teenage girl and dumping her body in Centre County. In March of 1993, the body of 17-year-old Dawn Birnbaum, a teenage runaway, was found in a snowdrift along Interstate 99, near the Bellefonte interchange.
State police say a chase that began on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Monday evening ended in Huntingdon County and sent two people to the hospital. Investigators say around 7:40 p.m., troopers attempted a traffic stop on a Dodge pickup truck, hauling a trailer, near the Turnpike's 172 eastbound mile marker in Taylor Township, Fulton County. Troopers say the driver failed to stop and eventually exited the Turnpike at the Fort Littleton exit.
