HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Raystown Lake is a popular location in the summer months, and even more so during the pandemic. A lot of work goes into making sure the lake is successful. 6 News spoke with a park ranger about how they created their "Master Plan" to reflect community input, and capacity limits. It’s the largest lake in Pennsylvania, it's 30 miles long and located in Huntgindon County.
ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) -- Developers plan to renovate the exterior of the Gables Building downtown, and now have state funding to complete the project. Downtown Altoona has a handful of distinctive structures, including the former location of Gables Department Store. "The Gables Building is one of those anchor buildings, one of the those institutional buildings that so many people have memories about or in. Family members have worked there, and it's just a significant building and the idea of daylighting it is one that's very exciting and appeals to a lot of people,"

Dogs like Lucille are an expensive luxury to fire departments, who also have to come up with thousands of dollars for everything else they need. WASHINGTON (TND) — New research shows a significant decrease in remote and hybrid job opportunities for high-wage earners. According to Ladders, a website specializing in high-paying jobs, remote job opportunities paying at least $250,000 a year have declined by 60%, while hybrid jobs for the same salary range have plummeted by 95%. This trend is not limited to high-income positions. LinkedIn reports that the demand for remote jobs far exceeds the supply, with twice the number of applications for remote positions compared to the available jobs.
2nd UPDATE:CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — State police in Cambria County are providing new details about what led to Sunday's "emergency situation" at a residence in Portage. Investigators say troopers were called to the home, located along Dulancey Drive, around 11 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Police say the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Cody Anderson, had reportedly barricaded himself inside the home following an altercation with the juvenile victim.
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A man who tried to do some Christmas shopping at a Walmart in Port St. Lucie is now in the slammer, in part because some deputies were also doing some Christmas shopping for kids. Police say James Walsh tried to walk out of Walmart with a 58-inch television on Monday. Unfortunately, he didn't pay for it. Surveillance cameras followed the shoplifting suspect as he strolled around the store with the huge TV box in his shopping cart.
BOSWELL, Pa (WJAC) — According to Somerset County dispatch, multiple crews responded to a structure fire in Boswell early Sunday morning. Dispatch confirmed that crews from Boswell, Jennerstown, Sipesville, Jerome and Cambria responded to a reported structure fire along the 2900 block of Penn Ave in Boswell around 7 a.m. Sunday. SEATTLE (KOMO) — More than 100 canines were rescued after the doggy daycare they were in caught fire in north Seattle Wednesday morning. The fire was reported just before 11 a.m. and began inside the Dog Resort, a dog daycare and boarding business. Seattle fire officials believe the blaze began in the laundry area of the daycare. A KOMO helicopter flew over the scene Wednesday and saw firefighters battling the fire and evacuating dogs from the business.
